As usual, a little late

Okay, I should have started a blog about the development effort a while ago.

At this point Dean has started to really get a handle on Ruby. I have already written two Ruby on Rails web applications:

The first (Formr) is an online directory for a small middle school. It is a real work in progress because I was learning things out of the RubySpace book as I was working on the site. I’ve gone back and cleaned up a lot of things, but every time I touch the code, I make vast improvements.

The second (Patton & Co.) is a database of player comments and statistics for fantasy baseball team managers. That one is a lot slicker.

I am going to try to keep the page of development tasks current and, when I can, mention how we are learning something.

RapidVPS is our current hosting provider and they have been really helpful.

Troy D Will helped us get set up for the initial project and helps us when we get stuck with the system administration tasks.
